Screen Shot 2014-12-08 at 2.38.52 PMThis time of year is meant to be a season of celebration, yet for many it is a time of anxiety and stress. The myriad of Christmas programs, dinners, parties and not to forget the shopping crowds, can leave us feeling tired, frazzled and just plain “Grinchy” (if that is a word!).

While we may not be able to totally eliminate the hustle and bustle of this season, there are a few things we can do to help reduce our stress and survive the holidays! I believe the key is summed up in one word: moderation!

Basically, moderation means to avoid excess, so in our holiday season we should seek to be moderate in what we do. What are some of the areas that moderation will help us survive the holidays? Here are a few: I am sure you can come up with more!

  • Food consumption: both the quantity and different types
  • Alcohol consumption
  • Overbooking your calendar
  • Price and number of gifts purchased
  • Staying up or sleeping-in too late

Also, just adjust you mindset to be a little more laid back. Remember, there are others who are just as stressed, or more!

Finally, get a chiropractic adjustment! It has been shown that adjustments help relieve muscle tension, pain, stress and increase the body’s release of endorphin’s – the natural pain reliever of the body. Why not lower your stress level some today – call (314) 731-4383 and schedule your adjustment!

We want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
